Three of Swords Corset (Historical Stays)

A small but mighty piece with a sharp silhouette and even sharper symbolism.

This Three of Swords corset is inspired by late 16th and early 17th century Stays, the structured foundation garments that came before what we now call corsets.

While most will know it as a corset, this piece is cut in the earlier style, designed to create a straighter, more conical shape rather than the later hourglass curve.

Drafted using historical techniques and reworked with a modern eye for fit and line, this piece sits beautifully on the body while still holding that distinctly old-world feel.

Made from durable 100% cotton drill and structured with synthetic whalebone for support, it offers both strength and wearability. The straight front enhances that classic silhouette, while the cotton binding and velvet ribbon details add a softer, tactile contrast.

The front features our hand-printed Three of Swords design- three blades pointing downward, bold and unapologetic.

Details:

  • Historical stays construction (commonly known as a corset)
  • Straight front for a conical silhouette
  • 100% cotton drill outer
  • Synthetic whalebone for structure
  • Cotton binding finish
  • Velvet ribbon ties at the straps and back lacing
  • Hand-printed Three of Swords motif
  • Approx. 2cm bust reduction
  • Designed to be worn with a 5cm lacing gap

A piece for those who like their silhouettes structured and their symbolism a little darker.
