Black & White Gingham Stays Corset Strapless Historical Inspired Corset- Made to order
Black and White Gingham Strapless Stays Corset handmade using reinforced cotton gingham with a structured black cotton drill lining and adjustable front and back lacing. Inspired by historical stays (the predecessor to corsets) of the 16th and 17th centuries , this piece is designed to create a sculpted waistline while remaining comfortable and adaptable for styling.
While most will know it as a corset, this piece is cut in the earlier style, designed to create a straighter, more conical shape rather than the later hourglass curve.
Pattern drafted in house using historical pattern cutting methods, these stays are developed from the same original block as our Three of Swords Stays, but has had subtle shaping added under the bust and to the waist seams to create more refined silhouette that sits closer to the body for a more tailored fit than the black 3 of sword stays.
The front and back lacing allows flexibility in how tightly the stays are worn, making them ideal for layering over chemises, dresses, or shirts, or worn as a statement piece on their own.

the front and back lacing allows flexibility in how tightly the stays are worn, making them ideal for layering over chemises, dresses, or shirts, or worn as a statement piece on their own.
Boning Options:
Choose between flexible nylon boning or a combination of flat and spiral steel boning. The mixed steel option uses flat steel boning for the majority of the garment with spiral steel used along seams with slight curves that require more flexibility. please note that choosing steel boning will add more weight to the garment that some wearers may find less comfortable especially if worn in the summer or if they are not used to corsetry.
the corset pictured has been made with nylon boning.
Model is size 10, but is wearing a size 12 corset with the back lacing fully closed.
