A voluminous black and white gingham chemise dress inspired by historical undergarments, designed to be worn alone or layered beneath corsets, stays, and statement belts.
A modern take on a historical staple. Our new gingham chemise dress is cut from a soft black and white cotton gingham with a delicate 0.5cm check, bringing together romantic volume and everyday wearability.
Based on the same beloved block as our Swords Chemise, this version has been adapted for the slightly denser cotton fabric. The neckline and sleeves have been refined with a little less fullness to reduce bulk through the elastic, creating a beautiful soft trapeze silhouette when worn on its own.
Designed with a fully elasticated neckline and cuffs, the dress can be styled on or off the shoulder depending on the look you want.
Traditionally, chemises were worn as the base layer beneath corsets, stays, and gowns, but this one was made to be seen. Layer beneath a corset or statement belt for a dramatic silhouette, or wear alone for an effortless voluminous shape with a touch of medieval romance.
Available in your choice of mini, knee, or midi length, with the option to add pockets.

Available in S/M and M/L blocks. The primary difference between these lies in the underarm fit. With the elastic at the neck tailored to each numerical size which is carefully measured to provide secure, comfortable support when worn off the shoulder. Please refer to the size chart for your best fit.

To find your ideal size measure around your shoulders just above your chest approximately where your underarm meets your torso and remove 18cm or 7" to find your size. If you are between sizes you may wish to size up if you plan on wearing the sleeves mainly up on your shoulders or size down if you prefer the off the shoulder look.
