Our chemise dress is made to order, and cut using a blend of early modern pattern cutting techniques and contemporary methods, creating a silhouette that feels both timeless and effortless.
Traditionally, the chemise was the base layer of dress, worn directly against the skin beneath corsets and gowns to protect both the body and the outer garments. But these pieces were never purely practical; they were often beautifully made in their own right. This version brings that history forward, designed to be seen, styled, and appreciated as more than just a foundation layer.
Made from 100% cotton lawn, the fabric is lightweight, breathable, and softly translucent, giving the dress a beautiful, airy movement. Designed with a fully elasticated neckline, it can be worn on or off the shoulders depending on your mood giving you a romantic, undone, or quietly dramatic witchy feel.
The chemise features full, voluminous sleeves gathered into soft elasticated cuffs, adding shape without restriction.
Along the hem, each piece is finished with our signature Three of Swords design, hand lino-printed in white ink, as each print is hand printed this adds an extra touch of individuality to each dress.
Wear it loose as an easy summer dress, or layer it under corsets, belts, or structured pieces for a more styled, alternative silhouette.

Sizing:
Available in S/M and M/L blocks. The primary difference between these lies in the underarm fit. With the elastic at the neck tailored to each numerical size which is carefully measured to provide secure, comfortable support when worn off the shoulder. Please refer to the size chart for your best fit.

To find your ideal size measure around your shoulders just above your chest approximately where your underarm meets your torso and remove 18cm or 7" to find your size. If you are between sizes you may wish to size up if you plan on wearing the sleeves mainly up on your shoulders or size down if you prefer the off the shoulder look.
