  • How are your items packaged?
Here at R.C. Battle Designs, we take great care in packaging our items to ensure they arrive in pristine condition. We also strive to be as eco-conscious as possible with our packaging. The majority of our packaging comes from recycled and reused materials. Most of our packaging comes from cardboard boxes that we cut down to safely sandwich our artwork to prevent damage in transit. For our more fragile items, we reuse bubble wrap that we have received in deliveries to our home and studio. Any plastic-based packaging we use has never been purchased new by us and is on at least its second life. We encourage our collectors to reuse the packaging again where possible.

  • What size T-shirt or hoodie should I get?
To find your size, take a flexible tape measure and measure around your chest in inches. (If you only have a tape measure with centimeters, divide the number by 2.54 to get the measurement in inches.) Find the style below and the measurement that best matches your chest measurement. Please note that the measurements given are for body measurements, not the measurements for the actual T-shirts. **Regular Fit T-shirt:** - Small: 34/36" - Medium: 38/40" - Large: 42/44" - X Large: 46/48" **Slim Fit:** - Small: 36/38" - Medium: 38/40" - Large: 42" **Ringer Fit:** - Small: 35/37" - Medium: 38/40" - Large: 41/43" - X Large: 44/46" These tops have a tighter fit than our slim and are not as stretchy. **Hoodie:** - Small: 36" - Medium: 40" - Large: 44" - X Large: 48" - 2X Large: 52"
  • How should I wash my T-shirts/hoodies?
As our tops and hoodies have been digitally printed, if they are treated correctly, the colors will not fade. Turn your shirts inside out and wash on a cool setting of 40 degrees or less. Iron on reverse (cool). Do not tumble-dry. Wash dark colors separately.
  • Can I get a top printed in a different color?
Yes, you can! If you have one of our top designs in mind that you would like printed on a different color T-shirt, feel free to drop us a message at support@rcbattledesigns.co.uk. We will discuss color options and any changes needed to the artwork to ensure it prints well on a different color top.
  • What is the difference between a Giclée and Lino print?
A Giclée print (pronounced Gee-clay) is often known as an archival print. These prints are reproduction prints and are not classified as original pieces of art (although they can be worked on top of to create original artwork). A Giclée print is a fine art digital printing technique using high-quality pigment onto archival acid-free paper using high-end inkjet printers. Unlike printing from a normal home-use printer, tests have shown that Giclée prints can last over 200 years without fading (provided they are not placed in direct sunlight). The printers we use are members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, meaning you can be assured that the artwork is printed to the highest quality (at times, we find the prints can look better than the original!). A Lino print, on the other hand, is considered an original piece of artwork. This is a relief printmaking technique created from a block of lino. To create the print, a design is drawn or transferred onto a block of lino, and then the negative non-printed area is carved away using a variety of carving tools, leaving the positive printed area raised. Once carved, the block is inked using a brayer (roller) and pressed onto paper either by hand or using a printing press. This transfers the inked image in mirrored form onto the paper. I print everything by hand. Due to the nature of the printing process—the amount of ink applied to the block and the amount of pressure applied while printing—each print can come out slightly differently. As such, each print is considered an original piece of artwork and not a reproduction (like with Giclée prints). This, combined with the amount of time it takes to create a print from carving through to the printing process, is why the cost of Lino prints will be more than that of a Giclée print. Both printing techniques create beautiful pieces of art.
  • I love one of your prints, can I get it printed in a diffrent size?"
For Lino Prints we can unfortunately only print in the size of the carved block. For Giclee prints we can certainly print in different sizes, please get in contact with this size you have in mind. Each piece of work will have a different maximum size that we can print too, where we are able to preserve the detail of the artwork before it becomes pixelated. For prints of custom sizes we work with our printers to ensure the same high quality is preserved. To save on time and to keep costs down for the customer the prints are dispatched directly from the printers. For Lino Prints we can unfortunately only print in the size of the carved block.
